As Structures Condition Engineer you will be responsible for the management of the detailed examination and visual inspection programmes of all railway structures assets. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Structures Section is fully informed on the condition of all railway structure assets. Translink is Northern Ireland's main public transport provider, with a strategy to maintain and grow passenger and network capacity, and plans to introduce higher speed service, track upgrades, station refurbs and new builds, refurbishment of trains and upgrade ticketing systems. Please note that detailed application forms must be submitted before Monday 3rd June so early application is advisable As the Structures Condition Engineer your new role will include but not be limited to the following: Manage the detailed examination and inspection programmes for all the Company's structures assets. Manage and further develop a reporting system, to record the condition, maintenance and monitoring requirements of the railway structures assets. Undertake evaluations of the completed examination and inspection reports to confirm or otherwise the continuing structural safety and serviceability of the Structures assets and identify and recommend larger structural maintenance/renewal projects for consideration within the Capital Programme. Provide mentoring support to the Structures Examination and Structures Inspection Engineers and provide support in the assessment of their competencies. Undertake detailed examinations and Visual inspections of the Structures' assets for benchmarking purposes and to support the examination and inspection programmes. Provide Contract administration support to the Structures Maintenance Engineer in the management of the Minor Works Civil Engineering Professional Services Framework and the Structures Maintenance Contract. To be considered for this role you will have: Minimum of 3 years' post qualification experience in design, inspection and examination, construction and supervision of civil engineering projects. Minimum of a Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or other relevant discipline. Chartered Engineer in Civil or Structural Engineering. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary Design/Construction team. Experience of Project Management, Planning and Control processes and methodologies within a construction environment. Ability to understand and implement inspection and examination procedures.
