Contract Type

Condor Wines is a family-owned importer specialising in South American wines established by a husband and wife partnership, who share a passion for wine and strong links to the region.  We work with producers in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay and offer these wines to a growing network of customers throughout the UK and Ireland.  Our customers are regional and national distributors or retailers, so this is a ‘business to business’ company.

Recently we re-located our home and office to Thame and, coupled with strong growth, we are now seeking a ‘Sales & Accounts Administrator’ to help us better manage some key elements of our business.

The successful applicant would work with us from an office within our home located near Lord William’s Upper School.  The position is offered at 20 hours per week Monday-Friday and we would expect the person to be in the office during the first half of the day, however there is scope for some flexibility.  We would offer a competitive package according to experience.

Key Responsibilities & Attributes

Complete ownership of the sales order process, including:

  • Processing and acknowledging receipt of orders with the customer
  • Promptly managing any warehouse or transport issues that may arise from orders
  • Raising invoices and credits
  • Dealing with customer queries regarding pricing, deliveries and service
  • Managing the debtors, including sending regular statements and reminders to ensure prompt payment
  • Monitoring stock, including setting par stock quantities and acting when stock levels fall below required levels

Occasional support with marketing activities for promotions and events and support of directors and field sales with scheduling and coordinating meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.

The perfect candidate will maintain high standards of customer service by anticipating, understanding and fulfilling client’s needs and responding promptly to their queries and concerns.  A good attention to detail is essential and you must be a hardworking and well-motivated individual.

You will have excellent organisational skills and a minimum of 2 years accounts administration experience.  You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn swiftly and use other systems.

Experience using accounts management packages is essential.  We are currently using Quickbooks (so knowledge of this system is desirable) but we will move to a new accounts package within the next 6 months.

An understanding or interest in wine would be beneficial, however product knowledge training would be provided.
