JOB TITLE: Accommodation Support Worker – (Homeless) 

SALARY & BENEFITS: £18,431 + full training

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours a week- full time –flexibility required- Shift patterns 

THE COMPANY: Our client, based in Bedfordshire, is a value-based homeless charity organisation, with facilities in Luton & Dunstable. They are committed to putting the people they support in control of their lives. They offer temporary accommodation with support services & focus on enablement and maximising independence to help clients achieve their own potential to live and develop in the community 

THE ROLE: The role of the Accommodation Support Worker is to ensure that accommodation projects are clean and a safe environment for all staff, clients and visitors- provide support, guidance, empowerment and motivation to a diverse client group. This will require the post holder to work for lengthy periods as a lone worker

Key responsibilities: - 
To complete daily cleaning tasks, prepare and cook meals in line with the project’s requirements to an acceptable standard and to motivate clients to engage in these duties
To work as required within the project rota system which includes overnight and weekends
Collect monies from clients for their rents and other charges as appropriate.
Undertake any other reasonable duties required by management.

You don't need any experience as they employ people based on their values and commitment, but experience in a similar/ Support role or dealing with people with challenging behaviours from a relevant sector (Care, Charity, Homeless, etc.) would be desirable

Key experience for this role: - 
This is a full-time role ( 5 shifts a week) to work shift pattern with some weekend work required so flexibility is essential
Computer literate
Hold a full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable but not essential.
Empathy, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others
Experience in a role helping and dealing with people with challenging behaviours is desirable but not essential ( Full training will be given)

Previous experience working as Home Carer, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker are all desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
