JOB TITLE: Concierge Service Worker, Nights– (Homeless) 

SALARY & BENEFITS: £9.50 per hour + full training

WORKING HOURS: Full time-8am to 8-m Shift pattern- 3 days on, 3 days off

THE COMPANY: Our client, based in Bedfordshire, is a value-based homeless charity organisation, with facilities in Luton & Dunstable. They offer temporary accommodation with support services & focus on enablement and maximising independence to help clients achieve their own potential to live and develop in the community 


THE ROLE: The role of the Concierge Service Worker, Nights is to ensure that accommodation projects are clean and a safe environment for all staff, clients and visitors- provide support, guidance, empowerment and motivation to a diverse client group. This will require the post holder to work for lengthy periods as a lone worker

You will provide cover for the service at the properties required every day of the year during the hours of 8pm to 8am working on a rota system. This requires the post holder to understand and agree to providing cover for colleagues at very short notice even at times when this may be inconvenient.

Key responsibilities: - 

To maintain tight control over people arriving and leaving, ensuring unauthorised persons do not gain access whilst ensuring those entitled to access are allowed to do so. A record is to be maintained of all people entering and leaving the properties during your shift together with the times of this happening
Patrol the buildings during your shift to ensure cleanliness and safety
Contact other members of the Waking Night Concierge Team on duty at set times and record
Undertake training as required

THE CANDIDATE:

You don't need any experience as they employ people based on their values and commitment, but experience in a similar/ Support role or dealing with people with challenging behaviours from a relevant sector (Care, Charity, Homeless, etc.) would be desirable

Key experience for this role: - 

This is a full-time Waking nights role (3 days on, 3 days off over 7 days) so flexibility is essential
Computer literate
Hold a full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable but not essential.
Empathy, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others
Experience in a role helping and dealing with people with challenging behaviours is desirable but not essential (Full training will be given)

Previous experience working as Home Carer, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Employment Advisor, Voluntary Worker are all desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
