Teacher of Science, to start September 2019

Full time (part time would be considered)

Biddenham International School & Sports College is a friendly, thriving and inclusive, 11-19 years multicultural school which is rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted. The school has a student centred focus and chromebooks are used by all students to support daily learning. Due to the growth of our school community in September 2019, we are looking to increase the staffing in our core subjects.

We believe exceptional teachers transform lives, so we are looking for talented Science teachers with a real passion for their subject. The school offers a wide range of professional development opportunities and continued support for career progression.

Within the department we have the potential to fully support Newly Qualified Teachers beginning their teaching career. Additionally, we have the flexibility to offer a more experienced teacher A-level teaching in either Biology or Physics, if desired.

We offer a creative Key Stage 3 Science curriculum, as part of our unique connected curriculum. We deliver both combined and separate science GCSE’s across years 9, 10 and 11, with results improving yearly. We have good numbers moving from Year 11 into Post 16 Sciences, where we deliver a high quality programme of Biology, Chemistry and Physics A-levels.

There is scope for the right candidate to progress and assume additional responsibilities within the school or department.

Teachers of other subjects will be considered, alongside a retrain into a specialism in Science.

The successful candidate will be:

  • an outstanding teacher of Science
  • committed to improving outcomes for all students
  • passionate about learning and teaching
  • innovative and creative

If you are motivated and want to work with us to make a difference to the lives of our students, then we want to hear from you. Visits to the school are encouraged and welcomed.
