Team Leader

LOCATION: Bournemouth, Dorset

SALARY & BENEFITS: £11.04 - £11.28 per hour after a successful probation period

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - 37.5 hours on a rota basis

THE ROLE: The role of the Team Leader will be to assist the Service Manager, with the supervision and co-ordination of the work of the service to ensure compliance with the requirements of the funder(s). In particular you will act as the primary point of contact/referral for the project(s), co-ordinating allocations and providing a focal point for the team to facilitate a co-ordinated approach on a day-to-day basis.

Operational Duties:-

• On a day-to-day basis to oversee the performance of the services, YP supported housing acting as a main point of contact for the team.
• Stay abreast of developments in best practice, legislative and other changes, and integrate them into day-to-day work and the development of strategies and plans.
• When required, to chair team meetings, ensuring that minutes are taken and disseminated and that there is regular attendance from all staff.
• To assist the Service Manager to identify areas of training need and co- ordinate in-house training for the team or signpost staff to appropriate providers.
• To make recommendations to the Service Manager or Operations Manager about the best use of resources.
• In line with Alabaré Values to coordinate resources and activities of staff members to serve the needs of clients who are engaged within the service in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated support.
• To produce verbal/written reports as directed by the Service Manager or Operations Manager.
• With the Service Manager facilitate and maintain positive working relationships with a range of agencies in the area, ensuring a ‘joined up’ approach to support plans, to meet the needs of the client group.
• With the Service Manager, to facilitate opportunities for clients to participate in shaping the delivery and development of the project and the Charity.

Supervisory and Management Duties:-

• To directly line manage project staff and volunteers as directed by the Service Manager. .
• With the Service Manager, monitor staff performance, provide them with appropriate supervision and support and ensure their continuing personal and professional development.
• To ensure that all external reporting requirements are accurately completed at the appropriate time.
• To work with the Service Manager and Operations Manager in the setting and monitoring of budgets for bother services and appropriate annual performance targets, including collection of licence charges and arrears management.
• To ensure that the team’s working practices meet with regulatory and best practice requirements in accordance with Alabaré’s policies and procedures.
• As directed by the Service participate in the strategic planning process and contribute to the establishment of Alabaré’s business plan

General Duties:-

• To carry a caseload as directed by the Service Manager and/or support those with a case load.
• To perform as part of the team attending and participating in regular team meetings, attend appropriate training courses and participate in skill sharing sessions within the team.
• To oversee the collection of Licence Charges, management of arrears and liaison with Housing Benefit.
• Attend and participate in regular individual personal support and supervision sessions, and appraisals.
• At all times adhere to relevant legislation, good practice and policies and procedures. To work at all times to maintain Alabaré’s policies with regard to confidentiality, equal opportunities, anti-discrimination and health and safety.
• Be committed to personal development through training leading to NVQ accreditation.
• Access My Learning Cloud to complete the E Learning, attend training, conferences and workshops as requested.
• Attend relevant external meetings as requested by your Line Manager.
• Cover for other members of the team, as requested by your Line Manager.

• Must have a full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance
