Please note_ Due to the nature of the role, a Full UK Driving Licence and assess to a vehicle is essential for this role.

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health needs. As a Recovery Worker with a sector leader within mental health, you will work with people within the community in their own homes. Raising the bar for people-centred outreach services, you'll enable people to learn the skills and knowledge they need to understand and manage their own situation more independently.

You will be required to assess service users who are wishing to return to their own home following a hospital stay, you will carry out assessment over a 2 to 12 week period to ensure they are able to manage living in the community and identifying what support they may require to stay in their own home. You will carry out both verbal and practical assessments, documenting your findings to be able to give a report as to whether or not you feel they are in a safe environment and what their support needs will be. It's an extremely varied Recovery Worker role that could include some evening or weekend visits (although it's largely Mon-Fri 9-5), so flexibility and a car are important - especially as our catchment area covers the whole of Hertfordshire, your base will be in Stevenage at our Midpoint office. We also look for Recovery Workers with the IT skills needed to write up reports, and excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
