Here at Gem Cable Solutions we have a new opening for an Electrical Technical Support Engineer to join us!

The salary offered for this position is in the range of ??22,000 pa for an entry-level graduate to ??33,000 pa to a candidate who meets all key qualifications and abilities criteria.

This role will involve drawing up support documentation for quotations for customers such as Virgin Media, Network Rail, Airbus, and BBC. You will produce system schematics, and mark up drawings for cable assembly designs and support the sales & production team.

Your position will allow for future development within the Company and then on to a possible management role based on your personal development and performance.

As a technical support engineer for Gem Cable Solutions your day-to-day duties would include:

  • Assessing customers' requirements from documents by verbal or written communication and supporting the sales team by answering technical queries or investigating and solving technical issues
  • Preparing customer quotations
  • Processing - supplier & customer purchase orders
  • Production of CAD drawings
  • Production of test procedures
  • ISO 9001 awareness.

Essential Skills

  • Qualification in electrical engineering
  • Engineering knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • Good Understanding of bespoke cable assembly manufacturing, cables, connectors, fibre optics
  • Excellent planning and time-management skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be able to deal with customers., suppliers, production staff
  • Knowledge of testing various types of coaxial, multi-core, fibre optic cables
  • Computer Literacy
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Creative problem-solving ability
