Online Content Developer - 12 month Contract
Salary; £27k - £32k depending on experience
Based: preferably Edinburgh, Leeds,Sheffield areas

Role summary

Reporting to the Editorial Development Lead, you will be responsible for all aspects of the content design/development process.

Working collaboratively with other L&D professionals and subject matter experts, you will have an excellent grasp of English, evidenced in your ability to scope learning requirements for the target group and draft conceptual and detailed design scripts for review and sign off. The courses and online resources you design and develop will be heavily focussed on the knowledge and skills required by our Editorial team.

You will have:
  • a proven track record of creating high-end online learning and resources using rapid authoring tools, ideally Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline
  • the ability to create high-quality audio/visual assets, preferably using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products, to add colour and interest to the courses you develop.

A working knowledge of Adapt Builder and previous experience of working with a Moodle-based LMS would also be advantageous however is not essential.

You will be self-motivated and look for opportunities to support others in the team where you have scope to do so. We have a strong focus on quality based on defined workflows for the end-to-end design/development process.

  • Experience of developing eLearning courses using rapid authoring tools (Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline)
  • Experience in creating engaging video and audio content using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products (Premier Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition) or other similar products.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, confident and capable of working with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong team player: engaging, confident and flexible in approach, with a passion for employee development.
  • Knowledge of learning technologies and their contribution to delivering blended employee learning solutions.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and work concurrently on different projects.
  • Qualifications in instructional/curriculum design, particularly for online content,or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience of developing courses using Adapt Builder.
  • Strong working knowledge of a cloud-based Learning Management System, ideally Totara LMS or similar moodle based platform.
