Assistant Catering Manager
Royal Armouries Trading and Enterprises (RATE) is the commercial arm of the Royal Armouries Museum, the National Museum of Arms and Armour. RATE plays a crucial role in supporting the museum with its income generation activity across its three sites and beyond.
Café and Function businesses at Royal Armouries Fort Nelson have under gone consistent growth over the past four years and the café is a significant part of the offer at the Fort. Over the next 3 - 5 years we plan to undertake further development of these businesses at the Fort alongside other planned improvements to our commercial and free experiences.
This new role will support the catering and functions manager in the delivery of catering operations on site through Fort Nelson Café and the corporate and private function business.
Roles and responsibilities will include managing the Fort Nelson Café team on a day to day basis delivering a high quality catering offer and excellent customer service. The assistant catering manager will also be required to prepare and serve food for corporate and private functions as well as providing any catering requirements to support museum events.
Excellent communication and customer service skills along with a positive and flexible attitude will be crucial. You will assist your colleagues in making sure visitors are able to enjoy their visit to the utmost whilst delivering commercial income across catering activities. Salary £17.5K plus non contractual bonus plus generous pension in a unique heritage location.
This is a full time permanent position working an average of 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. There are more working hours required during peak (37.5 hours per week April-October inclusive) with reduced hours in winter (30 hours per week November-March inclusive). Hourly pay is annualised and so annual salary is paid in twelve equal monthly amounts.
Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required.
