Founded in 1541, our client based in Northampton, is a state funded boys’ school that are now looking for a versatile and enthusiastic member of staff to provide administrative assistance and support to the Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Examinations for both internal and external exams.

Main duties of the role include:
  • Dealing with enquiries from pupils, staff and public issuing Certificates to students throughout the year, tracing back copies, answering queries from parents etc.
  • Entering pupils for public examinations and amending after trial examinations
  • Collecting fees and maintaining records for pupils taking resit exams
  • Supporting requests for “Access Arrangements” and supporting applications for “Special Consideration”
  • Making arrangements for pupils with exam clashes including organising supervision over lunch if necessary
  • Dealing with all the administration issues in receiving, recording and securely storing exam papers and other confidential materials prior to exams
  • Dealing with all the administration issues in collating and dispatching completed exam papers
  • Working with the Senior Member of staff with responsibility for examinations and invigilators to prepare rooms for exams including ensuring all exam papers and stationery are ready, notices are displayed as necessary and ‘desk’ labels are ready for all students sitting public examinations
  • Being in attendance at the start of public examinations, dealing with queries, late arrivals etc.
  • Contacting pupils or parents whenever a candidate fails to attend an exam
  • Supporting the creation of seating plans for examinations 
The successful applicant will have:
  • The organisational skills needed to support the running of the Examinations Office
  • Excellent communication skills required to liaise effectively with Examination Boards, parents, pupils and staff
  • High attention to detail with the diplomacy and tact needed to deal with Enquiries About Results following the publication of GCSE and A Level results
  • Excellent data skills 
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week with a salary of £22,911-£24,799 per year.
Due to the nature of the role, you must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
