JOB TITLE: ICT Apprentice 

SALARY & BENEFITS: £3.90 to £7.70 dependent on age/experience – Apprenticeship 

WORKING HOURS: Full Time Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm – term time only

THE COMPANY: Our client operate a school in Hemel Hempstead and is an exciting, dynamic, vibrant and fulfilling place to work. A School which is ‘Good Overall, in all aspects’ (Ofsted December 2015), and which now enjoys a completely new build, opened in January 2017, and is now seeking an a new ICT Apprentice to join their existing team. 

This would be a great for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about computers and looking to build and develop a career in IT. 

THE ROLE: As a ICT Apprentice you will be part of an Apprenticeship program where you will analyse problems, research and then implement solutions supporting the needs of all stakeholders in the provision and maintenance of our ICT Resources across and beyond the school. Other duties and key process you will be involved in will be,

• Ensure the effective safeguarded and streamlined operation of the ICT facilitates in alignment
with the School’s Objectives to meet the needs of the users
• Promote effective teaching and learning throughout the school by the efficient and effective
development and deployment of ICT resources and infrastructure
• Analyse problems, research and implement solutions to Security, Data, Voice, Reprographics
and CCTV Systems
• Liaise with eternal partners to support the operation and development of our physical and
virtual Windows, Mac and Linux servers, including MIS and e-learning systems
• To contribute to the maintenance of hardware and software across the school

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the ICT Apprentice role will need to have an interest in gaining experience of administering developing and maintaining ICT system. You should have some practical experience, this can be as a hobby, but will need to have experience supporting installing and maintaining software, diagnosing problems, and someone who is reliable, well organised and committed to high standards working safely safeguarding all stakeholders. Although not essential, experience working in a school setting would be ideal. In addition, candidates will need to hbe well organised, must undergo a DBS check and will also need to live in, or be able to adequately commute to Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

- Has the ability to diagnose and solve ICT problems for all stakeholders
- Has excellent communication skills with all stakeholders
- Can work under pressure and meet external and internal deadlines
- Is reliable, well organised and committed to high standards working safely safeguarding all
- Can keep abreast of ICT developments, research, develop and implement solutions
- Is co-operative, flexible and responsible
- Is sympathetic to the needs of the school community
- Is patient, optimistic and with a fantastic sense of humour
- Is punctual, with a smart appearance
- Is able to maintain confidentiality within GDPR
- Must be able to commute to Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
