Contract: Power Amplifier Design Engineer Location: Swindon Duration: - 6/12 month Rate: £40 - £55 per hour ISL are working with a client in Swindon who are looking to hire a contract Power Amplifier Design Engineer. You will be responsible to design, verify and introduce to volume production and support staff assigned to RF module developments including PCB designers and test technicians. Key Skills Required: PA Design and test experience with 5 years' experience in PA Design General RF design & test experience Experience of taking products through to volume manufacturing Ability and willingness to learn new skills/techniques Technical report writing Planning and organizing of deliverables to meet project schedules The candidate must have a technical degree. The candidate must be willing to travel globally with minimal notice, including visits to customers/factories/Korea as required What you will be doing on a daily basis? Design responsibility for an RF Module (Sub-system incorporating RF Power amplifier and Low Noise Amplifiers). The role requires 5 years experience in PA Design and includes some or all of the following (depending on seniority/experience): Reviewing RF Module specifications and proposing an appropriate technical solution taking into to account device technology, cost, timescales. The proposed solution should include a system design analysis, i.e. TX and RX cascade budgets Implement circuit level design of RF module including RF Power Amplifier design (Doherty and Class AB circuits) and Low Noise Amplifier circuits. Circuit level design should fulfil the necessary requirement for successful transfer to volume production Verification of RF module performance with respect to module level specification and volume manufacturing. Includes creating and implementing design verification test plans. Provide support as required to transfer RF module design into volume manufacturing at Axis EMS partners. Support successful integration of RF module into Axis Radio Head Products Communicate effectively with the Program Management Team, PA Team Leader, PA Group Manager to provide clear updates on RF Module development status including technical compliance, timescale and costs. Liaise with external suppliers to identify and evaluate key components for inclusion within Axis RF Modules Supervise and monitor support staff assigned to the RF module developments, specifically provide support for PCB design resource to effectively complete PCB developments for RF module projects.
