An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Planning Officer within Falck Fire Services UK Ltd. Job Purpose Promote and expand Protection emergency planning business through the delivery of high standard high quality emergency preparedness and response customer services. The successful candidate will be a member of the Protection Emergency Management Response Team (Control Center Manager) on a 24/7-duty rota system. The Emergency Planning Officer responds to the Protection AP&L Emergency Planning Manager. Key Result Areas 1.Design, coordinate and deliver a wide range of training services in emergency preparedness. 2.Liaise closely with customers and provide specialist expertise in the development and execution of Site Emergency Exercises to facilitate the testing regime for both on and off-site emergency plans in compliance with requirements outlined in the Control of Major Accidents Hazards Regulations 1999 and associated legislation. 3.Integrate with both internal and public Emergency Services on operational, tactical and strategic emergency response issues, ensuring systems; procedures and communications dovetail in a seamless manner. 4.Create a culture that encourages transparency and a proactive partnership approach to continuous improvements in industry. 5.Maintain a comprehensive library of training and exercises records to provide customers, government bodies and agencies with auditable evidence to demonstrate current emergency preparedness for both on-site and off-site emergency plans. 6.Prepare courses and exercises documentation and materials in line with Emergency Planning Groups work schedule to meet both customer and government bodies’ requirements. 7.Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping for all EPG training facilities and Emergency Control Centres (Wilton / Billingham) ensuring a state of preparedness at all times. 8.Deputises for the Emergency Planning Manager in his absence or when delegated to other duties. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Essential High regard for safety and the safety of others (duty of care Good understanding of industrial safe systems and work procedures Comprehensive knowledge of COMAH Regulations 1999. Tenacity and ability to work under pressure in emergency situations Self directed and motivated Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be customer focused Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT packages Job dimensions require a flexible approach to working hours and mobility, as training courses may require periods outside of Teesside area Clean driving licence Desirable Minimum of one years experience in emergency planning, Emergency Services or Environmental Health & Safety. National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
