Are you looking for the opportunity to put your experience of leakage detection to the test, working in fast paced environment where no two days are the same? In this role you will be working as a Leakage Technician for Severn Trent Services which is the commercial arm of Severn Trent Water.We have a number of contracts and this role will be working on our MOD contract based around the West and North Yorkshire area.In this role you will be carrying out a full range of leak detection activities such as sounding, correlating, noise logging, step testing and resolving leakage. In addition you will provide a first class service to our customers and assist other teams in resolving reactive and proactive leaks. You will be expected to maintain, assess, diagnose and determine the most appropriate solution, while also supporting any interruptions or issues to either the water service or sewage treatment process. This will be a field based role where you will be working on your own, but you will be part of a wider team who you will be in regular contact with and meet up for meetings and on-going training. For this role we are ideally looking for someone who has previous operational leakage experience including leak detection as you will be working on your own so your experience will be vital.Your knowledge of how to use noise, pressure and flow loggers will be important along with a Good knowledge of resolving supply pipe leaks, distribution’s and leakage repair. As a company Health and Safety is of paramount importance.With this in mind a good knowledge and understanding will hold you in good stead.You will also be expected to be both computer and smart phone literate to be able to use the field equipment which you will be supplied with. Key skills and competencies: In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have: The ability to organise with planning abilities Self-motivated Good communication skills Honesty and integrity Following organisational procedures Flexible approach to short term changes to working arrangements Qualifications: You will be ideally educated to NVQ 2 level in a relevant discipline and have gained professional training, you will also have a clean driving licence due to the travelling to and from jobs in company van.We will also look for you to have the ability to use safety equipment / tools along with you having a knowledge of risk assessment.
