The Organisation

The Combined Authority brings together five districts plus York, the business community via Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and also takes in the former Passenger Transport Executive (branded Metro). Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people and represents the largest economy outside London.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity a Project Manager to join the Combined Authority’s Economic Regeneration team, within the Delivery Directorate.

We are shaping economic regeneration in the region and providing funding for major capital projects. We are now looking for a Project Manager who have experience in capital projects and project management expertise to help deliver our exciting plans.

Based in the Combined Authority’s offices in Leeds, you will be responsible for providing project management expertise to projects funded by the Combined Authority, within a diverse and wide ranging portfolio. This includes housing and regeneration, broadband, fuel poverty and carbon reduction, skills capital and flood alleviation. Your work will be focused on ensuring partners deliver successful and compliant projects within these areas, depending on business need.

The role will include support for business case development with key partners, unlocking barriers to progression of projects, managing risk, developing and managing funding agreements, budget management and financial monitoring of projects and their progress. The role also includes appraisal of business cases for both transport and economic regeneration.

The person

We are looking for candidates with a project management background with experience from one or more of the sectors outlined above, however the role will focus on the delivery of broadband in West Yorkshire and York. You should be proactive, with excellent communication skills, and an ability to build strong partnership relationships.

It would be an advantage, but not essential, if the candidate has experience on working on BDUK Broadband programmes including a good awareness of the Milestone 2 Cash process.
