Digital Consultant

Roles to be responsible for:

• Designing the company’s website
• Writing and publishing content for the website
• Increasing the authority and online presence of the website
• Designing and developing web interfaces for relational database systems
• Designing web pages including graphics, animation and functionality to maximise visual effectiveness and facilitate appropriate access
• Optimizing landing pages of the website
• Testing website interaction and performance prior to going ‘live’, and monitoring and maintaining the functionality of the website
• Monitoring the performance of the website using Google Analytics
• Writing the company’s podcast
• Overseeing the production of company podcasts
• Editing audio & visual content
• Recording audio and video footage at public events
• Creating video testimonials with customers
• Writing blogs on a weekly basis
• Managing the SEO (search-engine optimization) of the website
• Deploying a successful link-building campaign
• Managing social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), including posting daily
• Running email marketing campaigns and writing newsletters

Key metrics for job performance:
• Click through rate & conversion success
• Website ranking
• Press coverage
• The company website’s domain authority

Skills, qualifications & experience required:
• Educated to degree-level in humanities or social sciences
• Demonstrated experience in web design
• Demonstrated experience using audio & video equipment
• Demonstrated experience editing audio & video material
• Demonstrated experience in content creation and strong writing abilities
• Demonstrated experience of managing social media accounts on behalf of an organization or brand
• Experience with SEO and Google Analytics
• Experience in podcast production
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Knowledge of creating infographics and text & image graphics for social media • Knowledge of landing page optimisation
• Comfortable using mail campaign sites, such as MailChimp
• Experience in developing educational content
• Public speaking experience
• Demonstrated experience interacting with consumers on behalf of a brand
• Fluency in a language other than English in one of our core markets (eg. Chinese, Swedish or French)
• An interest in whisky is expected

Desirable, but not essential skills:
• Experience in the tourism industry, especially arranging transport and accommodation for large groups
• Experience in the education sector is desirable
• General knowledge of spirit distillation and production
• Familiarity with the spirit industry in Scotland
• Basic knowledge of Python or another coding language
