Senior Maintenance Engineer
Chesterfield manufacturing company are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer - electric or mechanical bias - to be the senior maintenance technician. Working a 4 on 4 off shift system you will be coaching and supporting the more junior members of the team. This would suit someone with leadership skills who is looking for a step up from engineer. Duties Include: Troubleshoot and repair all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC Identify the root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions Ensure production efficiency is maximised and return production to full capacity promptly Carry out preventative maintenance work as required by PM schedules and actively improve PM's to prevent issues re-occurring Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock Dismantle, adjust, modify, improve and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals or drawings Provide cover for the Maintenance Supervisor when required - liaising with contractors and planning work etc Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Projects and Capex Projects Advise and guide less experienced engineers and apprentices in problem solving and development Skills/Experience Required: Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification FMCG experience would be a distinct advantage as would PLC experience and/or training Leadership skills and a decisive ability to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines Methodical with first class numeric and analytical skills Ability to multi task and lead by example on complex engineering issues In return you will be given a competitive salary and benefits package.
