Technical Illustrator - Stonehouse, Gloucestershire - 6-month contract
I am currently working with a global leader within the Oil and Gas industry who are looking for a Technical Illustrator to work onsite in their Stonehouse office for an initial 6-month contract.
You will be working with a team of technical writers to help prepare user and maintenance content for hardware and software products. You will support them in preparing the necessary graphics such as exploded illustrations, line illustration, photos with annotation, etc.
Provide support to a team of technical authors to create and update illustrations (vector and raster) that are used in maintenance/assembly user documentation.
Be able to use Creo Illustrate, Photoshop and Illustrator to manipulate images. Tasks include resizing and editing photos and editing vector-based illustrations in Adobe Illustrator and/or Creo Illustrate eg adding callouts, creating illustrations for step by step assembly.
Obtain source CAD models from engineering and re-purpose illustrations to create exploded views or cut away, etc
Be familiar with working with engineering CAD (Creo).
Follow standards and guidelines for corporate style.
Possible need to create some animated assemblies using Creo Illustrate or SAP Visual Enterprise Author.
Experience and skills:
Excellent technical illustration skills possibly with engineering background.
Good understanding of graphic manipulation - vector and raster
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong team player
Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Work with content management systems such as WindChill.
Use of 3D CAD to create animations for assembly procedures
Interest in use of video to show instructions such as 3D models/animation to show assembly sequences.
