SALARY & BENEFITS: £18,427.50 Full Time and £9,172.80 Part Time plus benefits
WORKING HOURS: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) and Part Time (20 hours per week)

Our client provide facilities management to a range of Schools in the Sheffield area and now have new opportunities for a Caretaker / Site Assistant to join their existing teams. There are 20 hour and 37.5 hour contracts available working Monday to Friday where you will an alternate rota pattern of mornings one week and afternoons another.
This would be a great opportunity for someone with previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant or Facilities Management role, but would also suit someone who has good general DIY skills.
THE ROLE: As a Caretaker / Site Assistant your main responsibilities will be to provide a comprehensive caretaking service, addressing both Planned and Reactive Maintenance at the school to enable school needs and contract requirements are met to the full.
You will contribute to the creation of a high quality learning environment for pupils and staff that is clean, well maintained and safe and secure and will provide Knowledge and Practical Assistance in rectifying faults, hazards and issues that are highlighted, and ensuring that these are completed in the appropriate timescales without fail
Key Duties for the Caretaker / Site Assistant role :-
Responsible for the opening and closing of the school, ensure that the buildings and school are secured and ensuring all alarms are set
Attend the building and school requirements outside of normal working and, in the event of an emergency call out perform key holder duties and take appropriate action
Carry out general building repairs and reactive maintenance and liaise with sub contractors as required
ensure that the outside of the Buildings and General Site are kept tidy and free from Litter/Debris and Graffiti
Assist with prompt transfer of deliveries of goods to storage areas and help with general tasks around the school such as moving of furniture and heavy items
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Caretaker / Site Assistant role will ideally have previous experoence in a similar Caretaking, Site Assistant or Facilities Management type role or will need to have a good general level of DIY skills and knowledge and be able to assist with general building repairs and reactive maintenance tasks. Candidates will need to be excellent communicators and team players, and will need to be able to take a flexible approach to working patterns as will be required to work mornings one week (start times can be as early as 6am) and afternoons the following week (finish times can be up until 8pm). In addition, candidates will need to live within commutable distance to Sheffield.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Caretaker / Site Assistant role :-
Previous experience in a similar role or good DIY knowledge and skills essential
Must be a good communicator
Ability to work morning and afternoons on a rota basis essential
Must be within commutable distance to Sheffield
Will need to undergo a DBS check if successful
