Senior Software Engineer
The Software and Safety Technology Group have a vacancy for a Senior Software Engineer. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and developing a range of airborne and maritime software products, particularly focused on high integrity products, across a number of current and future platforms. The post holder should have expertise and knowledge that will contribute to the further development of our capabilities in Model Based Systems & Software Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team but also be capable of working on an individual basis to support customer specific requirements.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate full lifecycle software development experience and knowledge of safety processes using multiple languages such as SPARK Ada, Ada, C, C++, Assembler and scripting languages. Experience of integration and target hardware testing would be advantageous, in particular multi / many core processors and COTS operating systems.

As a Software and Safety Technology Group Senior Software Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
Contributing to the delivery of a number of software products across a range of platforms
Interfacing with customers
Supporting the development of estimates and scheduling activities as required
Supporting the engineering leads to resolve specific software related issues
Contributing to the development and improvement of software processes
Providing consultancy and support to safety-critical developments
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering related subject
Experience in a development environment with suitable knowledge of high integrity and safety-critical software processes (including DO-178C or equivalent)
Experience of using some of the following languages: SPARK Ada, Ada, C, C++, Assembler, Scripting Languages
Ability to support a number of concurrent activities including both new and legacy products
Ability to identify and develop new software capabilities required by the business
Good communication skills
Experience, knowledge of or a willingness to learn :-
Model Based Systems & Software Engineering using tools such as SysML, Mathworks, SCADE etc.
Target hardware and integration testing, in particular multi / many core processors and COTS operating systems.
Developing Software for vehicle control and mission systems.
Safety Critical Software analysis techniques to facilitate the performing of Independent Validation & Verification activities.
Learn rapid prototyping techniques to support the specification of high integrity display systems

An experienced Software Engineer that is comfortable developing software as part of a team. You will also have a willingness to learn and develop your skills in Model Based High Integrity Software Engineering, to produce quality safe and secure products required in this role.
Salary: ??32,660 +
