My client is a family owned company that has provided high end interior fit out and refurbishment services to it’s clients across the country for the last 50 years. This client provides it’s services to clients in the retail, leisure, education and healthcare sectors and as a result of continued expansion, they are looking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team. The main duties for the Quantity Surveyor include the responsibility for the following: Attend internal and external commercial review meetings in Liverpool and across the UK. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. Manage the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement with significant input from the site managers. Input into final account negotiations achieving the best possible outcome for the company. The Quantity Surveyor will assist in the preparation / evaluation / submission of claims for varied works. Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement. Maximising value and minimising cost, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to monitor and manage the operating cost base. Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s. Work with construction teams to identify and manage variances to budgets and report this information as required. The Quantity Surveyor will promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client base in Manchester and across the UK. Ensure that the group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met. Ensuring that cash flow is maximised including ensuring that payments are received on time. Assist in the preparation of management information required and take responsibility for the accuracy of said information (Provisions, cashflows, applications, variations etc) Input to Change Control processes on live contracts, identifying, notifying, pricing and the agreement of variations as they arise. Upload documentation as and when necessary in line with business requirements. Working within the operational teams to deliver and manage performance against forecasts. The Quantity Surveyor will assist in the updating of the Approved Vendor List for suppliers and subcontractors. Updating commercial schedules and documents with information supplied by commercial teams. Assisting the operational and commercial teams to deliver and manager performance on projects in Manchester and across the UK Preparation of monthly management and financial performance reports. My client will be looking for the following skills in their Quantity Surveyor: Commercial and contractual awareness A good level of computer skills A good level of competency of Microsoft packages Self-motivation, passion and a driven ‘can do’ attitude Be able to organise yourself and others workload Be proactive in your approach An excellent communicator A Quantity Surveyor with a high level of diplomacy and customer focused The ability to anticipate problems and ensure early intervention If you are currently an experience Quantity Surveyor based in or around North Liverpool then please send your CV
