SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year, our teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 82,000 people in need, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts, and their families. SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. We are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.
SSAFA focuses on providing direct help to individuals in need of physical or emotional support to address such issues as addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability - all of which affect members of the Armed Forces community. Many of these problems only become apparent when an individual leaves their life in the Forces to join ‘Civvy Street’. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome the problems they encounter and rebuild their lives.
Can you spare some time to volunteer for SSAFA to help others?
We will provide the training you need.
