Opportunity: Collecting box co-ordinator for Chestnut Tree House

St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House care for children and adults with life shortening conditions in the hospice and in the local community. Volunteers are needed to support the Fundraising Department by exchanging ‘empty’ and collecting ‘full’ collection boxes from local sites, shops, pubs and offices. You will also be required to pro-actively find new sites for collecting boxes. You will need: good communication skills, with both staff, volunteers and members of the public; the ability to use the telephone to contact collection box sites, arranging for collections; the ability to manage a paper receipt system when collecting boxes from sites; knowledge and sensitivity to the cause; reliability; good attention to detail; confidence handling money and awareness of own safety whilst completing the task; and the ability to manage full collecting boxes, which can get heavy.
