A multinational professional services firm based in the City of London is looking for a personable Network Security Engineer to join its growing team.

In order to be suitable for this role, you must be an accomplished Network Security Engineer with demonstrable expertise in the support, management and development of security systems, including Firewalls, host and network intrusion detection/prevention, web filtering, AV (security suites), web proxies, SIEM, DLP, IAM, MFA; advanced email and network fundamentals and technical security controls (eg Identity and Access Management). You will have proven hands-on systems and network support skills which will enable you to become the SME for security issues within the business.

Additionally, cloud experience is required for this position through O365 suite including the security and compliance centre, InTune MDM, Exchange and advanced threat protection. Furthermore, working with physical security (access controls), malware analysis, data analysis tools and forensic analysis would be required for this role as well as experience of Cloud Iaas including AWS/Azure.

You will manage the IT security layer by identifying and mitigating cyber threats, continuously hardening internal and client-facing platforms, educating staff on the latest cyber threats and ensuring that the business is aligned with industry-recognised security principles. CISSP or CISM certification would be highly advantageous to your application, as well as proven experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory and VMWare.

In addition to your hands-on responsibilities, you will work closely with the Head of Risk to develop IT security processes and policies in line with ISO27001/NIST concepts.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for information security issues
  • Ensuring the IT department's continuous adherence to relevant legislation, including GDPR, as well as implementing/developing supporting policies including breach response and mitigation
  • Producing reports, conducting internal training and managing vendor assessments from a security perspective.
