Electrical Design Engineer

Location - Dalgety Bay

Permanent - competitive salary and benefits

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of the business's product range from concept to execution. As part of this role you will be expected to contribute to the improvement of the products, assist in production process improvements, conduct planning activities and to help supervise the installation of new equipment. You will also be required to ensure design plans are held to the desired timescales.

Main duties and responsibilities

Electrical and application design requirements for all the company's products.
Competency in working on complex electrical systems.
Ability to carry out feasibility studies and explore new technical innovations. Provide technical justification based on studies.
Proficient in CAD 3d design modelling software. Has the ability to pick up quickly when moving from one modelling software to another.
Experienced in maintaining part numbers in ERP systems, revision control and change management are key requirements.
To employ knowledge and experience to proactively troubleshoot and solve engineering problems. All problem solving always has a focus on quality assurance.
Ability to work cross functionally is key. Through building relationships and interdepartmental cooperation to ensure the very best experience for the business's customers.
Attend meetings and openly contribute where required. Must have the ability to lead or chair a meeting when required.
Provide production line support when required to do so and oversee the installation of any new equipment.
To effectively liaise with suppliers and 3rd part contractors to ensure the best possible outcome for our customers.
Project management of new products and enhancements to existing products.
To ensure the consistent promotion of a safety conscious culture.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills required

Excellent working/design knowledge of electrical design systems including but not limited to:
Design of electrical schematics
Loom design and associated drawings and installation requirements
PLC programming and software development advantageous. Training can be provided
Understanding of manufacturing processes
Strong communication skills
Excellent problem-solving ability
Engineering Degree or relevant experience
Design applications in automotive industry advantageous but not essential
Good general IT skills.
