As a Database Administrator at Drax your focus will include; documenting all operational systems and processes in your tower, working with the wider IT ops team to contribute to conjuring, maintaining and operating databases, installing/configuring/testing database components, providing day to day patching/indexing and monitoring of the database environments, ensuring availability, capacity and performance are maintained.

You'll also assist with escalations, requests, reports and audit logs as needed, as well as supporting the ongoing analysis of our database platform.

But we don't need to tell you what a DBA does, you already know that. You've been doing this stuff for ages. What you will be interested to know is the important role that you'll play in supporting the infrastructure of a business that literally keeps the lights on. You'll need experience with SQL and Oracle database technologies, ETL processes with the ability to create complex packages using DTS and SISS, as well as AD and SQL security. You'll have excellent documentation skills, up to date industry certification and knowledge of proactive monitoring and system management tools.
