Key Responsibility Areas

As an Assistant Project Accountant, you will work in partnership with the wider business, project accountant and financial controller to support the running of customer programmes to help secure the best financial outcomes. You will provide robust challenge, governance and direction to the (IPT) integrated project team to help ensure projects are on time and on budget. You will assist in the preparation of management accounts to provide unique insights and analysis to business leaders to help them make informed decisions on how best to move the business forward and help to meet the overall sector and line of business strategy.

Supporting the Project Accountants and Financial Controller with preparation of sector monthly forecasts including assumptions, risks and opportunities and explanation of forecast movements.

Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance / project teams

Preparing financial documents such as invoices and reporting on debtors

Export and producing robust monthly Contract Status Reports (CSRs) and quarterly Sales and Margin Trading Plans.

Monitoring financial performance through the Monthly Forecast and Business Planning processes.

Working with the Project Team / budget holders to understand forecast, Business Plans and CSR movements.

Support business winning team in delivering optimal customer solutions.

Reconciling financial data and resolving problems/issues where appropriate to ensure integrity of information provided.

Reviewing computer reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source

Ensuring all financial procedures and controls are applied as required; and supporting non-finance functions on their application.

Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business to help drive the Finance function forward
