The Combined Authority brings together five districts, the business community via Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and also takes in the former Passenger Transport Executive (branded Metro). Overall, the Combined Authority covers a population of around 2.5 million people and represents the largest economy outside London.

The Role
The skills and experience of our policy team reflects the Combined Authority’s broad and diverse policy agenda, with most colleagues having a specialism in one or more of these topics. 

We are looking to appoint a full time policy assistant to provide day to day support to the Transport Policy team. You will primarily work with the Bus Policy Manager to focus on:  

  • Providing day to day support to Projects and Programmes within the team
  • Support with the engagement with District Partners
  • To work with Project and Policy Managers to undertake data analysis and support the development of technical assessments
  • Support the team with external parties to obtain and review performance management data
  • To support with the management of external consultancies where required
  • Work with the communications and engagement work stream to ensure coordination with external and internal communications.

The Person
You will be educated to A level and/or have direct and demonstrable experience in using evidence to develop and drive policy, with a clear ability to apply this to this role.

Secondment opportunities will be considered for this post, however, in line with the Combined Authority’s Secondments Policy, you must have 12 months’ service in your current role.
