You will be building a Smart Climate Data Analytics platform. As an early member of the Technology team, you will play a pivotal role at a climate-change focused startup. A successful candidate will be adept at identifying and executing on game-changing ways to cut down time to market for new products, improve codebase maintainability, and ensure shipment of top-quality data and data dashboard products.

This client is a global data analytics provider helping investment professionals to do well in the market while doing good in the world. The company has developed a world-class, proprietary methodology for investment professionals who are seeking ways to make an impact on climate change using the power of the capital markets. Over the past four years, the company has developed its data analytics platform, proven its methodology, secured its intellectual property and developed commercial partnerships for long-term revenue growth.

The Role

  • Strategically refactor and automate existing processes to help focus engineering efforts on new innovation
  • Build and automate Extract, Transform, and Load operations (ETLs) to get data where it needs to go in the right forms
  • Conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance to ensure high quality code
  • Build targeted logs and reports to generate insights for our processing, security, and client-facing datasets
  • Work alongside Data Scientists in cross-functional teams to build new data and analytics products

Skills

  • 3+ years professional experience as a software engineer, data engineer or similar
  • Proven experience changing what's possible for an engineering team to accomplish
  • Independent problem solver
  • Comfortable with the uncertainty of working at a start-up
  • A trusted expert in all things Python and Git
  • SQL experience
  • Docker experience
  • Jenkins experience

Desired Skills

  • Kubernetes experience
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) experience 5+ years of industry experience
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity
  • Know enough to be dangerous with Bash, Linux user and group permissions, SSL certificates, DNS, Google Cloud Platform, OpenVPN and NAT tables
