Manchester city centre, with flexible working options available

We're looking for a commercial analyst to join our property commercial team. At Co-op, we're proud to be the owners of one of the UK's largest and most varied commercial property portfolios. We invest ??200m annually on construction projects across our 6,000 trading, non-trading, residential, corporate and logistics properties so we can continue to make a difference for our members, customers and communities.

As a commercial analyst, it'll be your job to work with partners across the business to make sure we're spending our money in the right place, getting the best value, and meeting our sustainability and circular-construction goals. If you can bring us the skills we need you'll have an exciting opportunity to make a real impact across this large, dynamic property portfolio.

What you'll do

• analyse costs across our construction programmes to highlight insights, trends and performance
• support development of new metrics to communicate reuse, refurbishment and resale performance across the materials and equipment we use within Co-op construction projects
• design and develop engaging presentations to feedback findings
• support the delivery of a recently launched KPI suite
• build relationships and work closely with commercial managers
• develop new tools and processes to allow continuous improvement and better cost control

This role would suit people who have

• excellent data analysis skills using Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• a passion for finding opportunities to improve processes and save costs
• an interest in driving a 'Circular Economy' - extending the life of materials and subsequently reducing construction waste
• excellent rapport building skills, able to gain trust from senior partners in the business
• good communication skills, able to challenge and influence across the business
• the ability to present data and findings and create dashboards, simply, to both technical and non-technical partners

Why Co-op?

Here you'll do work that matters. We're a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, you'll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You'll also get a package that includes:

• competitive salary
• coaching, training and support to help you develop
• pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• annual incentive scheme
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
• discounts on Co-op products and services

Building an inclusive work environment

We're actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We aim to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the communities they serve.

We can make reasonable adjustments to our interview process according to your needs. And we offer a flexible working environment, so you can adjust your hours to suit your personal circumstances. You can find out more about Co-op people policies at colleagues.coop.co.uk.

As part of your application you'll need to complete an online assessment. It will take you around 12 minutes to complete this test.
