This is a global provider of devices used to control heating, hot water, & cooling in domestic & small commercial installations, expanding into the world of Smart Products. The business is investing heavily in new product design, in particular, an exciting new range of Internet & cloud-connected smart products to exploit the opportunities provided by the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT).
As a highly talented & self-motivated Senior Firmware Engineer, you'll join the UK team where you'll be responsible for creating software for an efficient, maintainable & coherent product architecture for a wide range of home automation & IoT products. You'll be involved in the full life cycle, creating detailed design, coding & validation of C++ Embedded software, with a focus on standards-based wireless networking, collaborate with global teams to ensure the delivery of new products according to agreed timescales, using best practice for code integrity & design validation you'll ensure that the integrity of the system & software architecture is maintained throughout the life cycle of the product.
As an Embedded C/C++ software engineer with proven experience in C++ (ideally in both Linux & resource-constrained platforms), you'll have a structured approach to design & verification with demonstrable skills in selecting appropriate software architectures. You'll be able to produce efficient Embedded software implementations & have a good appreciation of electronic hardware & electronics & Microcontroller-based Embedded systems. You'll play a key role in the realisation of leading-edge smart home products, so you'll need to demonstrate you're a natural collaborator with a successful track record of Embedded software delivery in firmware development environments.
Any experience in low-power wireless communications, such as Zigbee, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, software design for thread-based architectures (RTOS/Linux-based systems)& software development for consumer products is a plus.
Ideally, you'll have a degree in either computer science, electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent, but to thrive in this role you'll use your attributes as a self-starter, team worker, with good time management & communication skills, oh and you like to innovate & champion change!
