Location :  London     Salary :  £26,500

PTRC Education and Research Services Ltd is a company within the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) and is an international, multi-disciplinary training and development organisation specialising in training and staging events on all matters relating to transport and travel planning.  It was formed in the 1960s and has built a reputation for the quality and professionalism of its activities and as the market leader in the field.  PTRC provides training courses, study tours, workshops, seminars and conferences. Clients include highways, traffic and transport practitioners in government, local authorities and consultancies as well as practitioners in the charitable sector. Services are delivered both in the UK and internationally.

PTRC is a commercial organisation whose revenue is derived from educational activities in the UK and abroad. It currently has a portfolio of more than 30 courses and seminars and is continually looking to increase the number of events.

Duties

The Events and Course Manager is responsible for the development and running of a range of conferences and courses within the transport industry. This involves research into competitors’ events, keeping up-to-date with developments in the transport planning world, and most importantly liaising with colleagues about possible ideas for conferences and training courses.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Development of programme and events content in conjunction with the Head of Training and Development
  • Preparation and maintenance of budgets and bookings for all events
  • Profit responsibility for delivering the budgeted surplus for each conference and course
  • Venue selection and liaison
  • Speaker and delegate logistics and co-ordination of equipment requirements
  • Sourcing and securing event  sponsorship
  • Co-ordination of bookings/invoicing with the support of the Event Co-coordinator Issuing of contracts for trainers/course presenters
  • Attending, managing and supporting events  as necessary
  • Marketing of training events, including the placing of print and digital advertising production and distribution of print and digital brochures, co-ordination of group emails and newsletter
