CFD Methodology Engineer
This role is based in the UK but also has an option to be based in Italy depending on seniority of the candidate.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Methodology, to support the Aerodynamics Department.
The responsibilities of the position will include:
Optimisation of CFD workflow with a view to meeting the efficiency and throughput targets; writing code and developing analysis tools to support the requirements of the CFD users; contributing to the improvement of the numerical techniques employed to ensure the validity of the simulations and benchmarking new software; supporting the activity to maintain the CFD baselines.
Strong PhD/Master degrees in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in fluid dynamics and numerical methods are essentials.
The ideal candidate must be familiar in using CFD codes, proficient in programming (Linux, C++, Python, and Bash), having a remarkable aptitude for problem solving and attention to detail.
Knowledge of OpenFoam, ANSA and NX would be considered a plus.
The ideal candidate person will be a self-motivated team player able to demonstrate good problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to and use new technologies in the area of numerical techniques.
A flexible approach to working hours will be needed to ensure that project deadlines and targets are met.
The position is based in Oxfordshire (UK) or Italy depending on experience of yourself and availability.
