LOCATION: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

JOB TITLE: Locality Coordinator

SALARY & BENEFITS: £20,000 - £23,500 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 per week (or less by arrangement, from 30hrs per week)

THE COMPANY: Our client is an independent charity and part of the Carers Trust network – Britain’s leading provider of information, advice and practical support to carers across the UK. 

THE ROLE: The Locality Coordinator will be required to help coordinate and manage our clients’ successful services for carers and people needing care in Milton Keynes. You will be experienced in social care and confident in supervising staff and dealing with clients. You will manage a team of Care Support Workers, carry out client assessments, work with partners and roster visits for your locality.
Every day will be different – from ensuring that a carer’s respite break is delivered on time, to mentoring a new worker, to working with your manager to grow the business, to networking locally - your job will be diverse, challenging and very rewarding.
You will be part of a small, supportive office team who cover each other’s work where necessary, but you have responsibility for what happens in your area – when it is successful you can take the credit and know it is because of the hard work of you and your team.

Key Responsibilities of a Locality Coordinator to include:-

• All line management of operational staff, including Care Support Workers and other staff as appropriate (e.g. Senior Care Practitioners).

Manage service delivery in the locality through:

• Inputting to, maintaining and managing recording systems
• Managing referrals from initial contact to start of service delivery
• Managing and regularly reviewing all client/staff information required in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Planning care delivery through efficient and effective use of the resources available
• Allocating staff to clients and appointments and ensuring that requests for services are fulfilled, using electronic systems of allocation
• Working in partnership with external agencies to ensure client’s needs are met
• Identifying promptly any issues that require further investigation or represent a risk to the safe operations or reputation of the organisation and reporting these to a member of the Senior Management Team.
• Managing the day to day demands made upon the service and working with the Area Manager and other colleagues to develop the service.


• Working with colleagues to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and quality assurance procedures.

Business Development:

• Identifying sources of potential new customers and contacting them to promote the organisation.
• Promoting the charity to local groups and organisations.

This list is not exhaustive and you may be asked to carry out other duties as per client's care plan or management instruction.

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate must have good communication skills and people management skills. They will be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, emails and general internet. The successful Locality Coordinator will have previous experience conducting care needs and risk assessments, draw up care plans and agree service delivery. They must be able to work as part of a team but also be self-motivated and work on own initiative. You will have excellent customer care skills, including dealing with people sensitively, be practical, methodical and flexible.

Key experience essential for the role of Locality Coordinator based in Milton Keynes:

• Must live within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with access to transport.
• Will be computer literate.
• Previous experience working in a similar role or environment.
