JOB TITLE: Care Support Worker

SALARY & BENEFITS: Pay rates £8.63 to £13.00 per hour depending on shifts, experience and qualifications

WORKING HOURS: Flexible hours – 16+ per week 

THE COMPANY: Our client is an independent charity and part of the Carers Trust network – Britain’s leading provider of information, advice and practical support to carers across the UK. 

THE ROLE: The role of the Care Support Worker based in Milton Keynes will be to provide support to people with care needs including emotional support, companionship, practical assistance, personal care, domestic tasks, trips outside the home and assistance to engage in social activities, depending on their individual situation, wants and needs.

Key Responsibilities of a Care Support Worker to include:-

• Supporting people with activities outside their home, for example community activities,
shopping or attending medical appointments.
• Supporting people at home with all aspects of the care they need to live safely and as
independently as possible in their own homes.
• Assisting with personal hygiene e.g. oral care, helping people to shower or go to the toilet.
• Assisting with dressing, choice of clothes and personal appearance.
• Preparing meals and drinks and providing assistance with eating / drinking.
• Supporting people with their health and welfare needs, including administration of
• Assisting with mobility, including use of wheelchairs, hoists etc.
• Assisting with a therapeutic programme designed by a medical professional and/or
supporting people to gain new skills or maintain their current abilities.
• Providing emotional support, reassurance, companionship and a safe environment for
those benefiting from care and support.
• Carrying out basic first aid and summoning emergency services if required.
• Reporting any concerns about abuse or the welfare or safety of any adult or child to a
manager / nominated person, and highlighting any changes in circumstances to a manager.
• Cleaning and maintaining the home and its contents.

This list is not exhaustive and you may be asked to carry out other duties as per client's care plan or management instruction.

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate must be able to develop good working relationships with carers and people with care needs while maintaining appropriate personal boundaries.
You will work independently and take initiative while working within our client's
policies, procedures, guidance. You will be able to demonstrate care and respect for vulnerable adults and children. The successful Care Support Worker will also be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.

Key experience essential for the role of Care Support Worker based in Milton Keynes:

• Must live within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with access to transport.
• No experience necessary just a caring nature with the commitment to succeed.
