Job Description

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well qualified and motivated teacher of French and Spanish from January 2017 (an earlier start may be available).  This is a part time role for one day a week but there is scope for further responsibility.

Fairstead House is an independent preparatory school for children aged from 3 - 11 years set in the heart of Newmarket, Suffolk.  We are a friendly and inclusive school and we seek to stimulate and challenge the children in a warm and nurturing environment.  Languages play an extremely important part in the curriculum.  The children are taught Mandarin, French and Spanish as part of a language carousel.  KS1 children learn one language from the carousel and KS2 learn two (Mandarin and French or Spanish).

This is an exciting time for Fairstead House as we are opening a new Nursery in January 2017, which will allow us to accept children from 9 months old.

We are looking to appoint a teacher who is passionate about teaching languages to young children.  Our small class sizes allow teachers to become fully acquainted with the ability of each individual pupil and to ensure that each child maximises their potential.

Fairstead House School & Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. The successful applicant will required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references.

To apply, please contact the Registrar, Saskia Ouwendijk, on 01638 662318 or on registrar@fairsteadhouse.co.uk for an application form job description, and other employment information.
