The residential services that the company delivers include Residential Children’s Homes, a Residential Family Centre, a Crisis Intervention Centre (Wales) and Post 16 transition to independence units; there is also a School, Foster Care Department and a Training Centre. The ethos of the company is to provide a continuum of care, offering specialist interventions for children and families at the high end of the spectrum of need. We are looking for skilled and motivated Support Workers to join our Residential Family Centre in Woolston, Hampshire. Our Residential Family Centre provides residential care and community-based parenting assessments that are evidence-based and provide a conclusive judgement. The successful applicants will be required to work directly with vulnerable families who need parenting support, it includes direct work with young people as well as their parents. Therefore, the ideal candidate should have the ability to prioritise needs,  safety and wellbeing of the Family Centre residents. You will be asked to maintain the upkeep of the home and the adhere to homes consistencies. This would include updating care plans, risk assessments  and case recording. The ideal candidates will be able to act calmly in crisis situations, prioritise effectively and adapt to change. The successful candidate should be an effective communicator, you may be required liaise with external agencies such as social workers etc.

The role will include working early mornings, late evenings weekends and bank holidays.


Proven experience of working within the care profession and possessing a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable. If applicants do not hold the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent) a willingness to work towards is essential. Applicants must be fairly active due to the nature of the role and activities undertaken whilst on shift with young people.

Applicants must have a full driving licence and have access to use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure. The disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
