David Mellor Design is a world-renowned manufacturer and retailer of high-end design cutlery, kitchenware and tableware based just outside Sheffield in stunning grounds within the Peak Park village of Hathersage.

Job Description

We require an energetic, punctual and well-organised person to join our small team. Working in our growing mail order department you will be involved in the daily picking, packing and processing of online and telephone orders alongside providing a high level of customer service by both phone and email.

Main responsibilities:

  • Taking customer orders by phone
  • Answering customer enquiries by both phone and email
  • Tracking parcels
  • Processing customer returns and refunds
  • Picking stock to fulfil orders from our warehouse
  • Processing orders through our ecommerce platform and stock control system
  • Packing and despatching customer orders
  • Acquiring a high level of product knowledge
  • Maintaining an organised and tidy work environment
  • General administration associated with the role
  • Working effectively as part of a small team


  • Exceptional customer service skills with previous experience in either a sales or customer services role
  • Excellent telephone manner and written communication skills
  • Organised with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well on own initiative and within a team
  • Good numeracy and IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • A high level of accuracy and strong administration skills
  • The ability to problem solve
  • Be proactive and work in a timely manner
  • Work effectively and in a timely manner in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Energetic and  physically fit
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • A flexible and adaptable approach

39 hours per week (Friday to Tuesday)
