Whatever the weather and equipment the crew need to operate to the highest possible technical standards, it will be up to you to ensure this happens. A time-served technician with mechanical/electrical experience, preferably in a marine environment, your in-depth knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems will be key.
Primarily working at lifeboat stations between Redcar and Skegness and also at our lifeguard support centres at Scarborough and Skegness, you will also be required to travel throughout the North Division. Travel and work in other parts of the UK and ROI is likely. You will need a full valid driving licence plus the willingness and flexibility to work out of hours when the need arises and also on a rota basis.
You will be part of a team working closely with Station Mechanics and Lifeguard Managers carrying out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and defect repair on all of the mechanical equipment within the division. This is a chance to make a lifesaving impact on the vital maintenance of lifeboats and lifeguard equipment. You will also be involved with trials and assessments of new equipment. You will need to be a proactive individual who can respond quickly to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
