About the job
We are looking to recruit exceptional research professionals to work in our Survey Research Centre.
We will be recruiting people with a background in social or market research, who are passionate about research and the research process. We're looking for people who are flexible, good communicators and work well as part of a team. We have a number of posts in the Household Surveys and Health Surveys teams.

The Household Surveys team carries out several of the most well-known national large scale surveys in Britain including British Social Attitudes, the English Housing Survey and National Travel Survey. The Health Surveys team conducts surveys across a wide range of topics including general health, diet and nutrition, addiction and gambling, and mental health, and runs the Health Survey for England and the National Diet and Nutrition Survey. Both teams also carry out a range of smaller surveys.

Each survey team is responsible for a survey from development to delivery so you'll be involved in all stages including design, set up, monitoring fieldwork, data analysis and reporting. As a Researcher, your day to day work could include preparing and checking study materials and questionnaires, helping to design survey questions, briefing interviewers, preparing response reports, attending meetings, running tables or writing part of a report.

As a Senior Researcher, you will be expected to take a lead role in the day-to-day management of surveys. You will need to liaise effectively and professionally with the staff, as well as clients or external collaborators. You will contribute to the overall design and implementation of surveys. You will also be involved in questionnaire development and piloting, and checking CAPI questionnaires and materials, fieldwork monitoring, analysis and reporting. You must have quantitative research skills and experience in conducting surveys and handling the resulting data.

For the senior researcher post, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience of analysing and reporting social survey data. Excellent interpersonal skills and project and timetable management skills are essential.

Applications to work part-time will be considered.
